Megan B. Herring
Legislative Analyst

Megan Herring has been with Texas Star Alliance for 4 years, working closely as a legislative advisor with John Pitts on a number of issues including public education, healthcare, and appropriations. Megan is the Director of the Internship Program for Texas Star Alliance, managing all intern recruitment as well as serving as the point person during the duration of the internship. Megan gained experience in public policy early in her career during her internship with the Health and Human Services Commission. As a Policy and Procedures Coordinator with the Emergency Response Program, she gained experience in program development, budget planning, and government affairs.

As an ambassador of the Repatriation Program she served as a liaison between government agencies while compiling local and state resources to help administer the program to its full potential. The Repatriation Program is administered through HHSC and helps place U.S. Citizens back in the United States after becoming destitute overseas. Megan was also serving as an intern during the West Disaster where she assisted with disaster implementation planning.

Megan graduated from Texas State in May of 2013 with a degree in Health and Wellness Promotion. Megan was raised in San Antonio, Texas and now lives in Austin, Texas.
