TSA Elects Principal and Two New Associates

The Principal members of Texas Star Alliance, an integrated public affairs firm based in Austin, Texas and with offices in Houston and San Antonio, are excited to announce that Eric S. Knustrom as been elected to join the membership as a Principal and Megan Herring and William Fullerton have been elevated to the position of Associate with the group.


Mr. Knustrom has been with the firm for 5 years. Prior to the 86th Legislative Session, Eric was recognized by Mike Hailey's Capitol Inside as a "Rising Star" in the Texas Lobby. Eric began his legislative career in Texas working with the Texas Legislative Service, TELICON, on the floor of the Texas House of Representatives in the 83rd Legislative Session. Prior to his legislative work, he worked in the legal publishing and electronic discovery fields. He credits his years providing instruction in legal research and statutory interpretation at the University of Texas School of Law and St. Mary’s School of Law for giving him the background necessary to quickly and effectively draft, interpret, or evaluate all manner of legislation. Mr. Knustrom earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Texas School of Law and Bachelors of Arts in both Political Science and Speech Communications from Sam Houston State University.


Eric’s policy advocacy has touched numerous areas including education, healthcare, criminal justice, jurisprudence, and IDD, to name a few. When asked about his election Eric said “from the first day I arrived at Texas Star Alliance it has felt like home. The professionals at TSA that craft some of the state's most meaningful polices are like family to me now and it is one of the greatest honors of my life to be able to build my career alongside them.”


Ms. Herring joined Texas Star Alliance in 2014 working as a Legislative Advisor. Ms. Herring manages one of the most robust and complex policy dockets in the Texas lobby community. Her work on behalf of clients includes a broad swath of public policy topics including; education, elections, health care, local government, tax, energy, transportation, and workers' compensation. Prior to joining TSA, Ms. Herring interned with the Emergency Response Division at the Texas Health and Human Services Commission, after obtaining her Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Wellness Promotion from Texas State University.


Mr. Fullerton joined Texas Star Alliance in 2016 after serving as the Chief of Staff for Commissioner Michael Williams at the Texas Education Agency. Mr. Fullerton served with Mr. Williams in various positions in Texas government throughout his public service career. Prior to joining Commissioner Williams team, Will spent his early career running numerous successful campaigns for local, state and national offices. Will is also the Executive Director of Texas Aspires, an education reform advocacy group focused on providing the opportunity for every Texas child to achieve their full potential. Mr. Fullerton is a graduate of The University of Texas at Austin where he obtained his Bachelor of Business Administration.
